End Game |

After hitting level 50 nearly two months ago, I immediately started work on the Miragent's armour quest chain. This is without doubt one of the most desirable sets of gear in the game. Not having this set when fighting against someone in full gear is like trying to fight against a player 10 levels higher than you - they resist all your attacks, and there is nothing you can do but wait to respawn. It removes skill from the game until the gear is levelled out.
The first three parts of this quest are easy. The third is a bit of a grind, but you are steadily making progress every day, and that is what keeps you going. As a non-DPS class, the first 3 quests took me one week to complete. There is one annoyance at this stage, the boots. Until you have the full Miragent's set, the boots do not have any speed bonus, so you will find yourself keeping your old / different boots for running around, and then switching to your Miragent's for boss fights or PvP.

Operation AAA Debriefing |
|
Feb 01, 2010 - 5:05 PM - by Daemion

Operation AAA took place at 2000 GMT on the 31st of January. The objective was simple: Take as many artifacts as possible, turning all the artifacts pastel green, and put us on the map.
We failed. But boy did we have fun.
We took the following artifacts:- Abyssal Aegis (Sulfur)
- Tenebrous Cloak (Sulfur)
- Restorative Grasp (Roah)
- Abyssal Fury (Roah)
- Tenebrous Cloak (Roah)
- Abyssal Aura (Divine)
- Abyssal Fury (Divine)
- Fiery Staccato (Divine)
While taking the artifacts around Roah, members of the alliance were quick to spot that our artifacts were being retaken. After a few artifacts were taken around Roah Fortress to lull the Asmodians into a false rhythm, we quickly turned back and surprised them as they tried to take Restorative Grasp, forcing them to withdraw into their fortress. Our point made, we decided to move to the Core.
On the way, there was dissent among... [Read More]

Double XP just keeps on giving. You level up quicker, you catch up to your legion-mates, and you can finally craft that Armor or Weapon you want (six weeks after you first got the recipe). Cyrus did not let the Double XP weekend pass by; it grabbed it by the proverbials, and wrung it out before kicking it out the front door on Monday morning. With the majority of members the better side of level 40, we set up a series of Steel Rake runs.
Despite how the organiser nearly ragequit life due to the stress, members of Cyrus took to the scene with gusto and a hatred for pirates, matched only by the love for Hairpins, Wine, Cheese and other such booty. The (aptly named) Human Potion from Across the Ocean, Shikiru, walked away with Steel Beard Pirate's Diamond Earrings (making sure to kill Madame Bovariki before raiding her jewellery box), much to the envy of those around her. Other scenes of... [Read More]

Cyrus are Recruiting! |
|
Jan 19, 2010 - 12:38 AM - by Redh
|
Cyrus are currently recruiting all classes for Aion. We have a very active membership, and most evenings we have around 25 - 30 members on Ventrilo.
Most of our members are in the level 40+ range, and we have many level 50s working their way through the Miragents and Anuhart sets.
We would especially like to hear from Chanters and Assassins, although any active player will be welcomed.
Please contact either myself (Redh), Gemm or Zeona in-game with any questions, or apply on our website.
Thanks!

A meathead in a sandwich of Clerics |

It's been a busy couple of weeks at Cyrus, with our first pre-release members finally closing in on level 50 and making something of a competition of it. And how nice it is that the race was between members who are always on Ventrilo and actually playing the game themselves!
Although there have been many members who sprinted ahead at the earlier phases of the game, only to be burned out all too quickly, the hottest race from levels 45+ were between the vastly overpowered and easymode Spiritmaster Ukproud (officially the worst SM on the server), and the full healing specced, slow levelling Cleric of Redh (much praised, group-specced healer and friend of the world).
With Ukproud ahead for levels 1 to 48, he clearly didn't take the threat of the Redh seriously early on. However by the end he was clearly worried for his prime position, pulling all-nighters, not going to work, and taking every opportunity to distract his competition. However, it was not to be...
