Cyrus in Star Wars: The Old Republic has been fighting on many fronts. With the game not quite panning out for many of our members at initial launch, it has taken a little while for the members and new management to find its feet. However they have proved to be not only a resiliant group of players, but determined to keep the Cyrus flag flying in The Old Republic.

Karagga Down! Looks easy to me, but whatever. Apparently this is an "achievement"...

The members have formed a strong bond, and there are regular guild activities being organised to keep things interesting. And with the forthcoming 1.2 patch which introduces Rated Warzones and other content, things are certainly looking good for those who managed to stick with the game.

Cyrus in WoW has got off to a very strong start. We have a regular core membership and enough active members to have started setting goals for both Rated PvP and raid content. Gearing members is coming along nicely, and we are ready to start openly recruiting to fill a few gaps and give us more choices when it comes to trying out different compositions.

Since deciding to move part of the guild to World of Warcraft, we have all been working hard to level and gear up for endgame. It has been a lot of fun for those new to the game, and even those returning chose to roll new characters to help their guildies and get a fresh start. And now it seems the real fun is beginning, as most of the guild is level capped, PvP geared and Raid-Ready.

Tonight saw us participate in our first WoW guild raid as we tackled the Firelands 10-man instance. We had a lot of fun, and the atmosphere was excellent as usual on Teamspeak. Star Wars: The Old Republic has received a mixed reaction from the members of Cyrus. Whilst we still maintain a strong presense in the game and members are organising regular raids and daily Warzone premade groups, the game has not completely satisfied everyone. With this in mind, and in order to attempt to keep our community together until the next shiny new game comes along (Guild Wars 2, anyone?!), we have decided to set up a Cyrus wing in another game, namely World of Warcraft.

Sunday 8th January saw the first meaningful guild event for Cyrus in SWTOR. However it was not quite the outcome we were all hoping for. We expected to outnumber the enemy, but we didn't expect to encounter so many problems with the game and server.

Cyrus in Ilum: We are not a zerg guild. We are not a zerg guild. We are not a zerg guild. Resistance is futile!

The first problem we encountered was long server queues. This prevented some members from joining us at all for the event, and caused many others to have to quit when they were disconnected from the server. We even lost our Raid Leader early into the evening, who was not able to get back ingame for the rest of the event.
