When the going gets tough, what do Tainted do? They swear at us. They call us names. They cry. They lie. They claim they were AFK. They threaten to leave the server. They claim they have never lost a PvP encounter against Cyrus (except when they "let us win"). But mostly, they rage on forums. It's only been a few hours since the fight, but the thread is up to 9 pages so far...

For Tainted. We are really sorry - we didn't mean to hurt your feelings!
Cyrus are used to fighting against the odds and being massively outnumbered. We deal with it every day, and we find ways to succeed. We are used to not meeting many Guardians on our PvP travels and going it alone. We have seen the calls in the World Defense channel asking for Cyrus members to clear out the Defiant zerg from the daily PvP quest areas. We constantly get messages asking if we are PvPing tonight, and reporting in Defiant zerg locations. Mostly we win, occasionally we lose. We never claim to be the best, we just aim to have a good laugh and do our best.
When we took a beating in PvP, we knucked down and worked on improving ourselves. We could have used a number of valid excuses, but we didn't. We put our hands up and said "We are only as strong as our weakest member". Our members have put in a lot of work since then improving their characters, and this is clearly paying off. The results have been tearing up the Defiants for some time now, and they are starting to hurt. Ironically, they are even calling Cyrus the zerg, just because we are the last ones left standing.
But we don't cry. We don't complain. We don't resort to swearing at our opposition or calling them names. And we never make it personal. We just get on with business, and take our wins with our losses.
Tonight we set out for a guild event with 30 members, ported to Stillmore and immediately hit the Defiant zerg. "Awesome", we thought - "great night ahead". Tainted were there along with a couple of pug raids. Now if you read the Tainted version of events, there were probably only 1 or 2 pugs. But they don't seem to understand that the game engine doesn't render everyone in the area. It will render your raid, and then start on your enemy, up to about 50. So when Tainted see 20 of them and 30 of us, they don't see all their help and support we are also fighting against.
So we wiped a couple of times after some really great fights next to the Defiant camp, and decided to even the numbers and fill our second raid with pugs, and to start up a third raid for anyone interested in joining. We all know that open world PvP needs a kick start on Whitefall, so what better opportunity than this? The pug raids filled up quickly, and we got started.
What followed should have been a fun night with equal numbers between Guardians and Defiants. However after the first strong push from Cyrus and our pug raids, we wiped the Defiants, sealed their rift, and then only Tainted dared to come back for pretty much the rest of the night. The Defiant pugs either logged off or went to do warfronts, having absolutely no confidence that there was anything they could do against Cyrus and the pugs.
Absolutely pathetic, Defiants.
Now we would normally give credit to Tainted and recognise them as a worthy guild for staying out. However their attitude and behaviour throughout the night was so childish and insulting they needed to be taught a lesson. And this isn't the first time they've thrown their toys out the pram because they took a beating.
On Saturday, we had a guild raid up, and went looking for a fight. We encountered the Tainted raid early on, wiped them a couple of times, but then they never came back. To make matters worse, there were slim pickings to be had elsewhere, and no-one even tried to attack our PvP rifts. So we logged on a Defiant alt to search for Tainted, and noticed they were all in Iron Pine Peaks seemingly hiding away from us. We sent out our scouts, located them and used a guild rally banner. Within seconds, we zoned in and wiped them again. And their reaction? They called us every name under the sun, complained that they weren't ready or were fighting another guild (which when we found them and zoned in, they weren't), and then threatened us with the following (about the only sentence they managed without swearing):

So if the gloves are off and Tainted want to play with the pugs now, why exactly are they so mad when we do the same? Tainted claim they tried to call in pug Defiants to help out tonight, but no-one came. Well guys, I'll tell you why no-one came to help you - because you treat your own faction like dirt, and stand by watching us slaughter them. Tainted had two pug raids with them tonight, but when they got wiped by Guardians they didn't respawn and run back with you because they probably thought you wouldn't bother helping them. Nice reputation you've earned.
If you guys want to escalate matters so that we get larger scale fights, then that's fine by us. We've proven tonight that we can motivate Guardians to fight alongside us, and we noticed how a lot of them took great satisfaction at finally getting their own back on you for all the ganking you've been doing in the past to them. Karma's a bitch.
And franky, you should be thanking us for what happened tonight. We gave you just a taste of what it's like to be a Guardian guild on Whitefall. Yes you ended up being outnumbered, but you should have made the absolute most out of the situation and enjoyed the challenge, instead of crying like babies. There's no way on earth you guys could have hacked it as a Guardian guild, you are all way too fragile.
So idle threats, personal insults and some strange obsession with our forums - guys, this has to stop. I mean here you are, again, reading our forums and probably raging at the things I'm writing. STOP STALKING US! We are here to play a game. If you want to play, log in and play. If you don't, go re-roll on an RP server and continue talking your strange pirate crap somewhere where your own faction at least will appreciate you.
