Congratulations all! This afternoon we reached guild rank 13!

Now some have complained at the frequency of these announcements, but I can't help it if we are all doing so well! :D

Keep up the good work - I hope to me making the announcent of guild rank 14 in a few days, when we will field a guild warband and go claim us our first keep!

being new to both WAR (about 3-4 weeks) and guilding (just 2 days :-!) i'd like someone to explain how and where a guild can claim a keep.
is it at Tier 4 or can we also get a keep at the lower tiers? who can participate in claiming keeps -- also the lower level players (like my Rank 17)? and what would we gain from claiming one (or at least attacking one)?

in case people are too bored to answer then a link to a thread in a forum or to a WARwiki-page would also be welcome/useful!

Before the Zone Domination system was brought in, the benefits of claiming a keep were marginal. The guild would gain a small amount of XP, and players within the keep area would gain the buffs from your guild standard. The keep also shows your guild heraldry.

However since zone domination, claiming a keep has become essential in locking a zone. If you can successfully claim and defend a keep for 2 hours, you get a domination point. If you can hold the entire zone for these two hours, the zone is locked.

After the next patch, there will be even greater benefits to claiming a keep. Not only can we "upgrade" its defenses, making it more difficult to capture, but if we own a keep while the zone is locked, the guild will be awarded with a tradable gold bag. I'm sure other benefits will become apparent too.

To claim a keep, you must have been desegnated as a standard bearer. When the keep has been captured, go to the 3rd floor, pull out your standard, and then right-click on the flagpole in the trainers room.

Generally we will see :-) Additionally what about making some small event on this ocasion? Like claiming one keep in T3 (as en exception) with as many guildmates as we can gather.
